pinterest pic(k)s of the week

This week, Pinterest was brimming with beautiful invitations and save-the-dates – which as you might guess, got my typography-loving heart beating rather fast. So I thought I’d focus this week’s Pinterest Pic(k)s on selections from our type board. If you’re not following us already, why not go to the Love Letters Pinterest page right now and click “follow.” Happy pinning!

We’re opening strong with pretty-in-pink chevrons, grounded in earthy kraft paper. What’s not to love about this stylish invite, especially the chevron-ed envelope! Pinned from Style Me Pretty, image by Jessica Burke Photography.

Next up is a whimsical watercolor floral save the date, pinned from The Wedding Chicks. This beauty was part of an “heirloom wedding” inspiration shoot produced by Kristy Rice at Momental Designs. The whole gorgeous thing was captured by photographer Katie Stoops and featured in Magnolia Rouge magazine. Be sure to check out the bridal gown, hand-painted by Kristy – wowee.

This charming mini-magazine featured on Martha Stewart Weddings was designed by the bride, who happens to be a graphic designer. Included were “special photos, beloved quotes from Walt Whitman and Mark Twain, artwork, and a short interview in which both the bride and groom answered the questions ‘I am,’ ‘you are,’ and ‘we are.’

Just a hop, skip, and a jump from magazine to booklet, check out these stunning specimens and more, designed by Karin Soukup, featured over at Head vs Heart.

Is all this yummy type making you hungry? How about this “save the date au chocolat” idea from un Beau Jour? Click through for the DIY directions but you’ll have to parlez-vous Francais to understand them.

I just love bold, saturated graphics. Here’s a great example from Minted.

And here’s how two of those bold colors can take off on their own in two fabulous invitation suites. The big-bold-yellow is from Oh So Beautiful Paper, designed by Leslie Lewis Sigler of Lilly & Louise. The rock-out-pink was also featured on Oh So Beautiful Paper, designed by bride Lauren Cunningham of The Creative Parasol.

Wrapping things up is our Love Letters shot of the week. Here’s one of my favorite typefaces ever, featured in our Saissant Collection. Style your next event with reception stationery that’s uber-sophisticated with a touch of edge: table cards, seating cards, menus, signs, and thank you cards. Go check them out!

Have a love-filled weekend! See you next week.
